Android app public preview hits Windows 11 to bring ‘new era of the PC’

Microsoft has just announced that it will soon release a very anticipated update: Windows 11 will display an Android application. This collaboration between Windows and Android marks changes in welcome. Although many Windows users find various solutions and emulators to run Android on their previous PC, Microsoft seems to plan to make the process more efficient.

The news comes from Microsoft’s blog posts properly titled “New Era PC.” Introducing Android applications is of course a new era for Windows, and it’s not too long. Microsoft has announced that updates must be available in early February 2022, although it is still unclear whether the Android update will be fully launched. For now, Microsoft refers to “public preview about how you can use Android applications on Windows 11.”

The Android application will be allegedly available through Microsoft Store, making it easier to use certain applications than ever done through various emulators. In October 2021, the catch of the initial screen of the leaking feature was first shared on the Bilibili Chinese social media platform.

Although Microsoft was not too advanced in his blog post, the initial leak features gave us an overview of what Android looks on Windows 11. As many as three screenshot caused, including Microsoft Store injections and two applications. Keep in mind that all this needs to be taken with a grain of salt until Microsoft actually launches updates: Many may have changed since last October, 2021.

In the catch of the initial screen shared by anonymous sources in Bilibili (through the latest windows), we can see some interesting things. Most importantly – and this seems to be confirmed by Microsoft itself in their latest updates with this week – the feature is likely to come as an optional update in Microsoft Store. One screenshot shows an application called “Windows Subsystem for Android” available for download. This is consistent with existing Microsoft Store programs, Windows subsystems for Linux, so there may be some benefits for it.

Two other screenshot including the Android application in what suggested the source is Windows 11 (with the initial release of Windows 11 updates and / or cunning feet with the code available in Windows 11 back in October, 2021.) One is quite easy, shows the Android Wechat application on Windows 11. The second screenshot suggests the potential to receive notifications from Android applications on Windows 11, and Microsoft can support Pinning Apps to the Windows 11 taskbar.

The forces joined Android and Windows made sense, and a more leaning experience was clearly something that was passed by people. Of course, many Android applications already have a Windows version, like WhatsApp with desktop clients. However, there are also many who do not, and this can be the early days of something that one day will resemble the synergy presented by Apple.

The family of Apple devices usually offers a balanced user experience, whether you use an iPhone or MacBook. IOS users who choose to exchange to Android can pass the way their device is used to connect smoothly, make file transfers and various other tasks that are easy between platforms.

Microsoft must recognize the need to create a cellular application that supports PC users, so the Android update is not surprising. However, it doesn’t make it less acceptable. How efficient this feature is, and which applications will be supported, still still have to be seen.
