The king of the village Khandela was a very dependable and effective King. He was always a champion of peace and harmony, and was one of the most adored King of all. The name he used was Kharaksen. He had 24 wife who happily resided alongside his wife. The only problem that the king had to face is the lack of sons throughout his lifetime. There was no person that could take the throne and honor even though he had multiple daughters. The king eventually performed an opulent Yajna ceremony that was awe-inspiring to saints and holy people. The result was that his son was blessed by God. gorgeous son.
KharakSen was his name for son sujan Kuvar. He was the sole child of the king that could control the entire Khandela. He mastered administrative tasks and weapons extremely well.
At some point, sujan kuvar decided to encourage Jainism and renounced his belief in Hindu temples and gods. With time and he became so enthralled by Jain ceremonies that he began abhorring Hindu rituals. A few days later, he destroyed the Yajna ceremony performed by Sadhus. He was cursed, and the entire kingdom as well as his horses were turned into stones.
After learning about the entire story, Chandrawati – the wife of Sujan Kuvar – prayed to the saints of God to beg forgiveness for her husband as well as his entire army. The saints offered her the most powerful phrase to please goddess Parvati as well as the Lord Mahesh (Shiva). This chant was reverently performed from the women of Rajputs as well as Sujan Kuvar. Then the Lord lifted the curse that was imposed to Sujan Kuvar, bringing the man back to his home from the stone. Additionally, God shiva converted him into a businessman and demanded that he stop using weapons. Lord Shiva said that his family will be named Maheshwari which means that that this community will always enjoy greater success in business and trade.
Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati blessed the entire clan with a blissful marriage and re-created their surnames of the past as Maheshwari. The 72 horsemen received Maheshwari Caste in gotra as part of the blessing.
